Extra Virgin Olive Oil, surprisingly good for weight loss

Did you know that a daily serving of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) can lower your risk of obesity?

Here are the reasons why:

It makes you feel fuller for longer which means that you’ll eat less and consume less calories throughout the day. This is due to the satiating properties of the monounsaturated fat (the healthy fat). Just ask the Mediterraneans who regularly take a shot of EVOO first thing in the morning. It’s a way of providing the body with pure, clean nourishment before even sitting down to a plateful of food.

A serving of Extra Virgin Olive oil boosts your metabolism which means that you’ll burn more calories even while you’re resting. Consuming a pure form of a healthy fat and fewer carbs throughout the day, will train your body to use fat for fuel instead of glucose. Continue this way & you’ll become a fat burning machine!

Adding more EVOO to your diet is especially effective when combined with the Mediterranean style diet. A delicious way of eating that is rich in vegetables, fruit, legumes and whole grains, moderate in dairy and low in meat. Studies have shown that this is an easier plan to incorporate into your daily life and stick to, once you’ve reached your weight loss goals.
