1 - Are you proud to be from Wheeling, WV?
I mean every word. Stefano and I had the best welcoming ever in Wheeling. From the baker at Kroger,to ALL the organizers of the Italy Fest;From the owners of Felice’s Pizza,to the Chef of the Bishop in Wheeling;From Patricia and her granddaughter Emily,to Mary Rose and her beautiful grandchild;We were welcomed over and over and over again.What I love the most about you people is:#1 Your desire to preserve the Italian Heritage of Wheeling;#2 Your nostalgia of the food that grandma once used to put on her table and small restaurant.Wheeling is the most exciting town, we've ever visited and we are coming back next year, not doubt.Stefano and I, too, are reminiscent of the old days with the old good food and ...We can’t wait to share with you more of the authentic foods we are planning to bring from Italy, just for you.But before closing, there is something very SPECIAL I want to share with you.I want to tell you about Teresa Camposecco.Do you know her?She called me about 8:30 pm on Sunday after the event was over. She was mightily upset.Two good friends had told her about Papa Vince’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil and none of them had the courtesy to bring her a sample. Being 82 and unable to walk due to a recent knee surgery, she considered that very unthoughtful.However, being a persistent Polish lady, she was able to get my telephone number and called me about 8:30 that Sunday.She asked where, locally, she could buy Papa Vince Extra Virgin Olive Oil.When I told her that we were not local and that next day we were driving back home to Alabama, she became very concerned.I said to her, "Don't worry, you can buy online"At that point she started begging me.She said, "I don't have a computer and I really want to get your Extra Virgin Olive Oil"I asked, "Where do you live?". It turned out that she was few blocks from where we were having dinner.I said, "We will personally deliver the Extra Virgin Olive Oil to you in an hour."Was she HAPPY!!
She called me today, Wednesday, to tell me that Papa Vince is the best Extra Virgin Olive Oil she ever had;
So tasty, she did not even need to add vinegar to her salad.
Isn't that a cute story? I had to tell you.
She does not have internet. If you know her, make sure to share this email with her.
P.S. We had a little delay with the Give-Away. I had lots of work today from my second job. I am putting the video together tonight and you will know first thing in the morning tomorrow whether or not you are the WINNER
