How to make iced coffee with liquor at home - Shakerato

This is the new way to enjoy coffee in Italy - the Shakerato.  Stefano and I love this iced espresso especially during the Summer on a hot day.  It's also a great idea for holiday parties, our friends love it when we make a Shakerato!

It's quick & simple to make.  All you need is a moka pot to make the espresso, and a cocktail shaker.  The secret of this drink is the Irish Cream and you can also experiment with your favorite liquor.  

Make sure you watch the video, we had great fun making the Shakerato!

Ingredients:  makes 1 or 2 servings (use these measurements, not the ones in the video)

50 ml freshly made Espresso (we prefer Lavazza brand)
30 ml Irish Cream Liquor (can be adjusted for desired sweetness)
6 Ice cubes

Preparation:

Put ice cubes in the cocktail shaker, followed by the espresso and the Irish Cream liquor.  Shake well for 12 seconds and serve immediately in a martini glass or another stemmed glass.
